1. Who Is Eligible for Student Membership?
Student membership may be granted to individuals who meet the following requirements:
- Are actively enrolled at a university, university college, vocational college, or upper secondary school.
- Have a study workload of at least 50% of full-time studies, or the equivalent of at least 15 ECTS credits per semester in higher education.
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Can provide valid documentation of their student status.
- Use the membership primarily for learning, skills development, hobby projects, or non-commercial activities.
Students enrolled at foreign educational institutions and exchange students may qualify under the same conditions.
There is no upper age limit for student membership.
2. Documentation
To obtain and retain the student discount, the member must:
- Present a valid student ID or confirmation of active enrollment.
- Provide documentation of student status upon registration and subsequently once per academic year.
- Inform Creator if their studies are completed or if they no longer meet the eligibility criteria.
- Creator may conduct random checks to verify student status.
3. Access Rights and Restrictions
Student membership generally provides the same access to facilities, machines, and the community as regular membership.
The following restrictions apply:
- Membership is personal and non-transferable.
- Production for commercial clients or regular business activities requires a commercial membership, unless otherwise specifically agreed.
- Study projects, bachelor’s and master’s theses, as well as the development of student ideas and non-commercial prototypes, are permitted.
- Members must comply with applicable health, safety, and environment (HSE) regulations and complete any required machine training.
- Material consumption and any specific machine-related costs will be charged in accordance with Creator’s current terms and conditions.
4. Special Cases
The following groups are assessed individually:
- Apprentices in approved apprenticeship programs.
- Doctoral candidates receiving a regular salary.
- Individuals enrolled in part-time education with a study workload below 50%.
- Students who operate their own businesses and wish to use Creator for business purposes.
- Creator may grant exceptions if doing so supports the organization’s non-profit objectives and does not result in unreasonable use of the discounted membership scheme.
5. Duration and Transition to Regular Membership
- Student membership remains valid as long as the eligibility requirements are met.
- Upon completion of studies or failure to provide the required documentation, the membership may be converted to a regular membership.
- Members will be notified at least 30 days before any price change.
- Standard membership cancellation terms apply.
6. Purpose
The purpose of student membership is to make technology, machines, and production facilities accessible to students, contribute to the development of practical skills, and encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between students and other Creator members.
